Halloween Party Foods

Hey ya’ll

I was going to throw a Halloween party but instead I threw a surprise party for my boyfriend this week (Happy Birthday Ray!)

Since I won’t be using them, I’ve decided to share these Halloween party foods with you!

Vomit Dip

Use avocado or spinach dip and pair it with chips or crackers.

Trail the dip out of the pumpkin to add the gross effect

Blood Jello Shots
This is one of my faves!

Make 1 pkg of strawberry or strawberry kiwi jello according to the box instructions. Then mix in 1/2 cup vodka,

1/4 cup Midori/melon liqueur and 1/4 cup peach schnapps. Draw the liquid up in the syringes and refrigerate overnight!

Cannibal Feast

Gross looking…I know LOL

Get a skull from any arts and crafts store (Hobby Lobby or dollar store) and cover with lunch meat

Use spare ribs as the chest cavity. A bell pepper is the heart, 2 chicken thighs for the lungs, and link sausage for the intestines.

And of course it all has to be slathered in BBQ sauce!

Finger Food

Cut knuckles into mini wieners and also cut the front of the top off. Boil. Add blood (ketchup) to the top and bottom of the wiener.

Add a nail (onion) for the finished look!

Dirty Q-Tips

Large toothpicks with peanut butter (or caramel) dipped marshmallows on both ends

Kitty Litter Cake

Bake 2 cakes (chocolate and yellow) and crumble. Make 1 box of instant vanilla pudding and chill. Grind 1 package of golden Oreo cookies in a food processor until a sandy consistency. Separate 1/4 cup of the ground cookies in another bowl and mix in five drops of green food coloring. Mix crumbled cake, large portion of ground cookies, and pudding and put in a pan or NEW kitty litter box. Put several unwrapped Tootsie Rolls in the microwave for 12 seconds or until soft; then shape them into poop. Place them in and on top of the cake, randomly, covering some with “litter.” Add the green-specked cookies as scent crystals. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

I hope I grossed you out LOL.

If you make any of these let me know how it goes!

   Happy Halloween

Giant S’mores Stuffed Cookies

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 24 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: 4 gigantic cookies

Ingredients

For the cookie dough
  • 2 cups plus 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 12 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled until warm
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
For assembly:
  • 1 cookie dough recipe, at room temperature
  • 8 graham cracker squares, broken into halves
  • 4 marshmallows, snipped in half lengthwise
  • 1 full-size Hershey’s bar, divided between each of the prospective cookies

Instructions:

  1. To make the cookie dough: Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a medium bowl; set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or by hand, mix butter and sugars until thoroughly combined. Beat in the egg, yolk, and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients and beat at low-speed just until combined – the batter should look a little lumpy. Stir in chocolate chips.
  2. Preheat oven to 325° F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. To assemble and bake: Lay half of the graham crackers out on the baking sheets – two crackers per sheet. Top each cracker with 3-4 pieces of chocolate then top the chocolate with two marshmallow halves, laying them side-by-side. Lay the remaining graham crackers on top of the assemble s’mores. Sandwich the s’mores between two large spoonfuls of cookie dough and using the remaining dough to wrap around each of the s’mores; the result should resemble a small cookie brick.
  4. Space the cookies at least 4 inches apart on the two baking sheets. Bake for 20-24 minutes or until the tops and edges are lightly browned and the edges just lift off the pan with a spatula. (While baking, the s’mores will press down under the weight of the cookie dough and will sink further while cooling. Don’t worry if the cookies don’t end up completely covering the s’mores – it only adds to the charm here.) Transfer the baking sheets to wire racks and cool the cookies on the sheets for at least 5 minutes. Transfer the cookies to the wire racks and cool for another 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Inside Out Oreo Balls

To make these, you’ll need: Oreos, White Chocolate, and Cream Cheese

(you can also get a few plain choclate chips if you want to add drizzle at the end)

Crush up your Oreo cookies very fine, filling and all.

DSC_0243.JPG

You can use a food processor/blender or you can put the oreos in a ziploc bag and crush them with a mallet or rolling pin

You will then add your softened cream cheese to the crushed cookies.

Roll Oreo into balls and then place in the refrigerator.

While the balls are in the fridge, melt the chocolate

https://i0.wp.com/thepost-itplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/DSC_0119.jpg

Place a glass bowl (or a smaller pot) on top of a pot with some water in the bottom pan. Keep it on about medium heat to keep it from scorching.

Melt chocolate and coat the balls

UntitledUse two forks, spoon, or chopsticks to do this. Or heck, use whatever gets the job done!

Drizzle with milk chocolate then place in the refrigerator

Let the balls sit in the fridge until the chocolate has set or has hardened a bit and then ENJOY!!

Cake Batter Cheesecake Bars

Cake Batter Cheesecake Bars

“Boxed Funfetti cake and cheesecake are two of my all-time favorite desserts, so I figured it was about time to combine the two. The result? A sweet, creamy, colorful cheesecake bar filled with all the flavors of Funfetti cake! Yum!”

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups vanilla cookie crumbs (I used Nilla wafers, but any type of vanilla cookie should work!)
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature (I used low-fat.)
  • ¾ cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
  • ½ cup yellow cake mix
  • 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • ½ cup + 2 tablespoons milk (I used 1%.)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup sprinkles
  • ~5 drops blue food coloring (optional)
  • ~3 drops green food coloring (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan, then line with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. Stir together cookie crumbs, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and the melted butter. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake until the crust is just brown around the edges, 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, beat the cream cheese with a mixer on medium speed until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the remaining granulated sugar and beat for an additional couple of minutes, until smooth. Add the eggs and yolk, milk, vanilla, salt and beat again until completely combined and smooth. Finally, stir in the cake mix and sprinkles until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling over the crust. Set the pan in a larger pan (a 9×13-inch works for this), and add enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the baking pan. Bake until just set, 40 to 45 minutes. Remove the baking pan from the water bath, and transfer to a wire rack. Let cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  5. Cut into bars. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Giant Hershey Kiss Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who would have thought my crazy idea of stuffing a giant Hershey Kiss inside of my cookie dough would turn out so fabulous!  I totally expected the kiss to still be a kiss inside, but it turned into what I like to call a chocolate molten cookie.  The chocolate oozed out like a dream!

Now…. I swiped the giant Kiss from my mom’s house over Christmas Break but I am assuming with Valentines Day right around the corner that you can still find these giant kisses at your local drug stores, grocery stores, Targets etc…  I have spotted them specifically in Walgreens.

Alright enough talking for me, let’s take a look!

Ingredients:

2 sticks softened butter

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup light packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

3 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

2 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Twelve  Hershey Kisses

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a large baking sheet with parchment or silpat liner.

2. Place butter and sugars in stand or electric mixer beating until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until well combined.

3. Place flour, salt and soda into a large bowl, mixing to combine. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips. Refrigerate overnight or at least 2 hours.

4. Wrap dough around giant Hershey Kisses leaving tall, do not press dough down. Bake for 15-18 minutes until baked through.  Let cool for 15 minutes before cutting open.

Makes 12 large cookies

*Note:  You can also use regular size Kisses, adjust bake time for 10-12 minutes.

First things first.  The dough I used was chilled overnight.  I suggest doing the same so the cookie holds it’s shape around the kiss :)   My Kiss box is beat up because I swiped it straight from my mom’s, into my suitcase :)   Thanks Mona!!

It’s kinda hard to see how big the kiss really is, so I had my little guy go grab a Lego dude.  Gives you a better idea.  I’d say it’s about 2 1/2 inches tall.

Love!

Here we go….cookie dough on the bottom….

Cookie Dough around sides and top.

Seal it up ever so gently and time to bake!

Perfection!  See the tip of the Kiss?  So fun.

Had I waited for the cookie to cool completely I kinda think the kiss would have held it’s shape, however who cares when you have this fabulous milk chocolate running out?!  I only made one giant cookie, but am assuming you could get about 12 giant cookies.  You could use the regular kisses for a smaller, equally as adorable cookie :)   Enjoy!
